Lab member Ryan Ackett was awarded the Smith International Center Graduate Student Global Leader Award! The award is dedicated to students who have shown leadership in promoting a global community both abroad and on the University of Tennessee’s campus. Ryan promotes cross-cultural exchange in his collaboration with researchers at Ben-Gurion University on soil greenhouse gas emissions, as well as in his service and advocacy for graduate workers as chair of the University of Tennessee United Campus Workers.

Ryan was presented the award by Herbert College of Agriculture Interim Dean David White and Smith Center Chair Tom Gill at the 2024 Herbert College of Agriculture Award Reception this April. Congratulations, Ryan!
